Since that piece of Tenacious D news came through I have had Beelzeboss in my head, I love that track, it could slowly take over Dio or Kickapoo as my favourite D track ever. So for you delectation, from the masterpiece that is The Pick of Destiny, Beelzeboss (The final showdown).

I had an email from the Tenacious D mailing list this morning telling me that Trainwreck, KG’s other band are playing this gig in Santa Barbara. It mentioned that it was the after screening party for a documentary. There is scant information about this on the internet but after a little digging it looks like the greatest band on the planet, Tenacious D have had a little film done about them. D Tour: A Tenacious Documentary. What little info can be found here.

Edit. 5th February 2008.

There has been a review posted at http://www.aintitcool.com/node/35473 to me it sounds great but no word on a release date on DVD, if it is being released on DVD at all. I will update this thread when I can find out more.

So we are watching Spiderman 3 over the weekend, nothing majorly interesting in that, but it managed to make it into the number 2 spot of worst films ever, nestling just behind Mission Impossible 2 and slightly ahead of Bram Stokers Dracula. It might never have made top 5 if it hadnt have been for this scene.

What…the…fuck…was…that!

My friend Jo has never seen the film, she loves and adores Ferris Beuller,
she has seen the breakfast club, but has never seen pretty in pink, 16
candles, st elmos fire or some kind of wonderful. Thats wrong, ok I will let
16 candles go and maybe some kind of wonderful is one of his lesser known
films but how can you go through life without watching pretty in pink,
essential viewing, if only for ducky miming to try a little tenderness.
Admittedly in the same conversation she asked me who kevin smith was, her
face will sting for a month for that faux pas.
There are certain things in life that I hold dear to me, my wife, my kid, my
guitar, my doggies, my cd’s and the films of kevin smith, I aint no snob, I
love them all, I dont say, oh nothing compares to clerks as that is tosh,
everything is better than clerks, chasing amy is his pinnacle, nothing comes
close to that one. I even like jay and silent bob strike back, like I say I
aint no snob, but why would anyone not know who kevin smith is?????

admittedly I was surprised at how good the distillers were, I saw them at
V2003 and they did not impress me, quite the opposite actually, was very
disappointed then, but sunday they were very good, enjoyable and polished.
Josh Hommes new band were supporting and they were dreadful, seriously, the
eagles of death metal they are called and they were quite sincerely one of
the worst bands I have ever seen in my life, which brings me nicely to the
second support band, the icarus line, americans who were on to a loser by
saying just how happy they were to be in brixton, they were in birmingham,
after the rain of plastic cups finished, the guitarist went on his arse,
much to the amusement of the audience, this of course antagonised him
further and he waded into the crowd, now if this had been a gig populated by
kids he may have stood a chance, as it was it was a gig populated by a lot
of large 30 something punks and previously mentioned guitarist ran back to
the stage like a girl, what then followed was 20 minutes of the icarus line
hurling abuse at audience, making no friends and sulking off to a smattering
of handclaps. Marvellous. Then the distiller, and as I said they were
fantastic, think it was filmed for some DVD.

I am looking to buy a Raptor T-shirt like the one that Thora Birch wears in Ghost World, has anyone seen one on a website that I can buy?

Must admit the drink I had knocked me for six, to the point that I was watching a DVD I bought earlier on today, the amazing mr blunden, a film that I have waited 20 years to watch again, and I find myself dozing, ok now and I am loath to go to sleep as I don’t sleep enough at night as it is.

Prone as I am to posting lyrics, sorry its my age, 30 something, this is as relevant as any lyric this side of tuesday.

I got a twenty-dollar bill
That says no one’s ever seen you without makeup.
You’re always made up.
And I’m sick of your tattoos
and the way you always criticize the Smiths.
and Morrissey.

And I know that you’re a sucker for anything acoustic.
But when I say let’s keep in touch,
I really mean I wish that you’d grow up.
This is the first song for your mix tape.
It’s short just like your temper,
But somewhat golden like the afternoons
We used to spend before you got too cool.

I got a twenty-dollar bill
that says no one’s ever seen you without makeup.
You’re always made up.
And I’m sick of your tattoos
And the way you don’t appreciate Brand New
And me.

And I know that you’re a sucker for anything acoustic.
But when I say let’s keep in touch,
I hope you know I mean I wish that you’d grow up
This is the first song for your mix tape
And it’s short just like your temper
But somewhat golden like the afternoons
We used to spend before you got too cool.

Yeah, but I wish you were my shadow

hold on if that werent too lame here check this

In this diary by the ataris, go on read them both please.

Here in this diary,
I write you visions of my summer.
It was the best I ever had.
There were choruses and sing-alongs,
and not a spoken feeling.
I’m knowing that right now is all that matters.
All the nights we stayed up talking
and listening to 80’s songs;
quoting lines from all those movies that we love.
It still brings a smile to my face.
I guess when it comes down to it…

Being grown up isn’t half as fun as growing up:
These are the best days of our lives.
The only thing that matters
is just following your heart
and eventually you’ll finally get it right.

Breaking into hotel swimming pools,
and wreaking havoc on our world.
Hanging out at truck stops just to pass the time.
The black top’s singing me to sleep.
Lighting fireworks in parking lots,
illuminate the blackest nights.
Cherry cokes under this moonlight summer sky.
2015 Riverside, it’s time to say, “goodbye.”
Get on the bus, it’s time to go.

Being grown up isn’t half as fun as growing up:
These are the best days of our lives.
The only thing that matters
is just following your heart,
and eventually you’ll finally get it right.
