It seems the tabloids think that Big Brother is in crisis talks due to a number of things and it may be pulled from the air. As if, really, Big Brother making front page news, this is publicity gold for them. They won’t pull it from the air, why would Endemol/Channel 4 do that when people will be tuning in.
I recall when the abhorrent Jade Goody was being her ugly self, clearly they should have pulled her, Lloyd and that girl out of S Club 7 out, but all the time they were there the tabloids were featuring then everyday and I will wager the ratings for that series of CBB were higher than the previous years. The fallout, the then sponsor changed and Ofcom gave them a slap on the wrist, nothing changed though. John Noel, former agent of all of the main presenters of the Big Brother shows, and some of the more famous former contestants had far too much control over it, if he managed Davina, Russell and Dermot, how could any of those be in anyway critical of Jade Goody, another of his clients? I think Davina McCall may have since changed managers and Dermot O’Leary and Russell Brand have since given up their roles on their respective Big Brother shows, perhaps a conflict of interests?

So where are we now, we have a girl, I suspect giving off bravado making threats that her gangster friends will be catching up with anyone who may of vexed her, we have a young girl that survived a civil war, but couldn’t manage to be civil to the other residents, the same girl that forgot in one evening that she has had a boyfriend for the past 4 and a half years, and the latest hoo har was that a dancer flobbed at a young lad over a smudged picture. Here, have some perspective as you are clearly missing some.
This week sees geordie single mother, cept she isn’t a single mother, but Geordie single mother Jennifer is up against ginger chef Rex. I like Rex, and hopefully this will be as one sided as the eviction of Sezer, THAT would be hilarious, clearly it seems as if Dale, Jennifer, “Bex” and Luke think they are untouchable, gladly not the case.
Outside of that, I think Mario may win this you know, after all he has 14 million people that saw him on the Ant and Dec and the fanclub, and basically he is the least loathsome.

So what else has been happening in Pete World, well lets go back to yesterday, I bought my first car! My first car, its a Corsa, it looks lovely, here…

Up to now I have been having 2 hours a week with the driving instructor, but with this me and Lisa will both be on the insurance and the world is my oyster. We dont pick it up until Saturday but its fair to say I am rather excited.
Did I mention that we are going to Greece? We arent going to Glastonbury, we came to our senses, neither of us like it and after all it is a holiday camp for the middle classes, but with far too many people and faux hippys. So we got a refund and decided to spend the week in Kefalonia, away from Jo Whiley bleating over the coverage how special the Glastonbury vibe is man.
Big Brother and as expected we are watching it in the early stages, some very likeable people in it, some horrible people, already want to punch alexandra and Staphanie, but think at this early stage I like Luke and Kat and want either one of them to win. This may change.

The Apprentice was tiring last night. I am of course glad that Michael Sophocles has gone, the flashes of brilliance Sir Alan saw seem to have escaped me, unless of course the flashes of brilliance were heavily disguised as being a fuckwit.
Interesting programme last night for a few reasons, obviously the bullish, boarish bullying boys club that is Alex and Lee shoved another female to the sidelines and doing that look, the one that says you disagree with us, therefore you are the idiot. Don’t get me wrong, unsure if Lucinda has the strength to get to the final, but I wish she did and those two were shown for what they really are.
And why does every series Sir Alan says, I don’t know where you will fit into my organisation, if they aren’t salesmen he always says this, I’ve already got a bloody lawyer, why would I want another. Perhaps the producers should only pick salesmen (not saleswomen) as this is all he wants.
Finally the age discrimination, why are all employers bound over by age discrimination laws, and harassment laws but apparently not Sir Alan.
Anyway as we approach the final hurdle and the charade of the interviews approaches (he never listens to his most trusted advisors so what s the point!!!!!) I think it will come down to a Lee, Alex, Claire final three and possibly due to bullying by Lee and Alex, an all male final two.

We are sat watching Eastenders last night and the final scene has Minty and Heather kissing, not too pleasant after my tea, but anyway, cut to the titles and the continuity announcer says “You can open your eyes now”. Comedy gold.

Loves young dream.

The weekend as ever was a joyous time, Saturday was lost in a haze of Xbox and Sunday the cat progressed from the ninja art of staring to deadly assassin and bought a bird in, as I chased him up the garden in my slippers he glanced back over his shoulder and said, “you fuck with me, next time you sleep with the fishies”. For a cat he has the tongue of a navvy.
The foot troubled me less over the weekend and the time off reflecting should have been used wisely preparing for my driving theory test this Tuesday, it wasn’t of course, it was spent playing on the xbox and cutting the hedge.
Which brings us nicely to Sunday, I cut the hedge, I don’t consider myself a topiarist but the hedge looked fine even though I say so myself.
After said hedge cutting it was time to transplant the camping gear from the cellar to the dining room in preparation for the first festival of the year, namely off the tracks in Derbyshire, and I am really extremely excited by this, Transglobal Underground and Banco De Gaia, but also the fantastic Los Albertos and 3 Daft Monkeys, it’s a great way to kick off the summer.
Then there was the telly catch up. The Office, Survivor, Americas Next Top Model, Top Chef, Reaper and Ugly Betty.
The Office, Blimey what a finale and nicely set up for next season, my only concern is that Jim didn’t propose and she is off to this college and that worries me, of course they aren’t real and merely characters and I should not have any emotional attachment to them. But anyway the best season finale of any series of the office and Ryan got his ass handed to him.
Survivor, and there you go Parvati won, a deserved winner in the end even if I don’t like her, she played the game and won it unashamedly. Roll on September.
ANTM. What?? Really, What???? Has Tyra lost her mind????? Anya should have walked this, she did walk it, is it some sort of statement letting the plus size win??? Good luck on getting the work Whitney outside of catalogue.
Top Chef. Andrew my favourite got kicked off this week so now I am rooting for Spike, but really Richard should still win this, fact.
Reaper. Who saw that coming, I didn’t see that coming, but that explains it, I think next week is the season finale and it was confirmed that it has got a second season, but who saw that coming. Ben was particularly good this week.
Ugly Betty, so many reasons why I love this show and so many why I hate it. Why has Wilomena got a third of the company already? The baby isn’t born!
So that’s the weekend and the telly.

Well Telly this weekend was a cornucopia of loveliness, the usual suspects are bound, the last 2 episodes this week of Survivor so nothing to say about that, I predict a Parvati, Amanda Cirie final with Parvati winning, Amanda getting 1 vote possibly from Ozzie. But I will know probably tomorrow.
Ugly Betty, Top Chef, The Office, ANTM and Reaper episodes over this weekend.
Reaper, what can I say about this show, I dread it doesn’t do well and gets cancelled in the states, I love it, very very funny, great storyline and fantastic cast, from Sock and Ben through to the Devil and Ted, absolutely fantastic and I think there are only a couple of episodes left, please please please make some more.
ANTM, Surely Anya should win this? Whitney, final three, What was Tyra thinking of, Whitney is a nice girl and ok a plus size model for the final three, but has she earned it? Has she buggery, if Fatima or Whitney wins this I give up on this show, I will know at the weekend.
Ugly Betty, very funny, very sad, but very very good, a little spoiler regarding Project Runway and the winner of that, but he played the part very very well, and made me like him a whole lot more as a result. I still don’t approve of Gio, even though I love the actor, not in a gay way, from his time in six feet under, I think his meddling with Betty isn’t helping her.
The Office, why doesn’t Jim just grass up Ryan about the drugs? Lolve the thing where he pretends to propose to Pam and its about a drink or something, I say it every time but this is a million times better than the UK version, easily the best cast of any American comedy outside of Seinfeld.
Top Chef, surely this is Richards game to lose, he is head and shoulders above EVERYONE else, the only person that comes close is Dale and even he showed weakness this week. Richard will walk this even though I want Andrew to win, Richard deserves to win.
And that is the telly round up, unapologetically reality TV, I know, I have no shame, I haven’t even mentioned that we missed Gladiators and I had to download it today. I don’t want your pity.

There is a trend on BBC quiz shows at the moment, Eggheads is the worst example of it, people are explaining the thought process to get to an answer. I think the BBC sent some decree down that people are winning too much, make them string it out a bit by explaining the bloody obvious.
If you know something, you know it, you cant explain why. “The answer’s cat Dermot, because worm and tree don’t eat cat food”. Its an irritating thing really, and its irritating watching the contestants trying to cook up a plausible explanation to their thought process. “Well, I know its not Mungo Jerry as he never served as a Prime Minister, and I am certain that Jordan never really strayed too far from shovelling pie into the mouth of fat kid, Harvey. Dermot, the answer is John Major, instinct is telling me that it’s C, John Major” “What do you think Eggheads, would you go for John Major?” To this the Eggheads reply, course we would you fucking idiot.

Jordan yesterday after giving Lil Harvey pie.

Richard Fleeshman hasn’t ruled out a return to Corrie.
Of course he bloody hasnt, since he left Corrie the witless goth has been playing a bloody gnome on Ant and Dec and he has released 2 singles, to call his music career floundering it would have to have some success in the first place, his debut single reached the dizzy heights of number 78 and the follow up failed to chart, I feel the goth will be scuttling back to the cobbles any day now.

A quiet night in last night, a little catch up with the telly, notably Grand Designs and Reaper.
The house on Grand Designs, Lisa loved, all I could think why in the name of Llewellyn Bowen would you stick a 60 inch plasma screen telly next to a huge carved masonry fireplace. Enough to say I didnt like the house and the husband seemed a bit wet.
Reaper was pretty great this week, people I know that have been watching it say it has been hit and miss, I don’t think this is the case. I have found all 3 episodes enjoyable so far, the lead might start to grate a little though if he doesnt stop pulling that “straining for a shit” face that Andy off the Emmerdale pulls.

Andy off of the Emmerdale.

Sam off of the Reaper.
